My First Post

This summer and up until my 13th birthday, I am biking 250 miles for a good cause. The cause is PCRM’s Simon Chaitowitz Communications Intern Fund. PCRM (the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine), a nonprofit health organization to which my aunt, Simon Chaitowitz, was deeply committed, promotes animal rights, preventative medicine, and alternatives to animal research. The Simon Chaitowitz Communications Intern Fund will provide a stipend to college students and others who wish to learn about animal rights by working in PCRM’s communications department. Simon died of cancer last year.

I am doing this for my Bar Mitzvah project; to do a Mitzvah (an act of selflessness).

I hope you will choose a certain amount of money to give for each mile or a flat sum. Please write a check to the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine and add “Simon Chaitowitz Communications Intern Fund” on the subject line, and send it to me.

Some of the rides I hope to do are:

● The Seacoast Century Ride (NH)
● The Nashua Rail Trail (NH)
● The Charles River Reservation (MA)
● The Emerald Necklace (MA)
● The Minuteman Bikeway (MA)
● The Cape Cod Rail Trail (MA)
● The Rockingham Recreational Rail Trail (NH)
